Posted by Bear's man. He's kind of joking, but kind of not...part of PTSD is specific triggers (such as a loud noise, which generally can't be prevented), but part is environmental stress, and getting enough sleep (or napping when stress levels are rising) keeps that limited amount of stress-resiliency recharged enough that PTSD triggers (such as noise) are that much more likely to not cause the handler to shut down. Bear's man can now leave the house (something he often couldn't do before), his wife can now leave for work and not worry...Bear is taking good care of his man. Sorry for this wall of text...these pictures are just very inspiring! :-)

News About Olaf the School Therapy Dog

Repost from Olaf's page...somehow I missed it when it was originally posted! (Pawsitivity trained Olaf for Special Education teacher Mary Ostmoe and she uses him every day to reach kiddos at Salk Middle School in Elk River, MN!).

Bear's man posted in Bear's voice (very funny): "I'm doing my part for international relations today. My man and his wife took me to the Scottish Games in Monterey, CA. I met this nice Afghan dog (vavavavoooom!) and, of course, some Scottie dogs. I recommend you don't bother Scotties when they are drinking. We had a great time. A lot of people stopped my man and his wife to ask questions about me, and I met a nice man on a electric scooter--it didn't even scare me. Now I've got to get my man out to do something else. Maybe we'll try CAMPING at the dog beach in a couple weeks. With Chloe the Dog!"

Xander likes to lie down with his head on a foot when he has to down-stay at a restaurant.

The Saint Paul Police Department is hosting a community event, and we took Xander along. He saw lots of people in uniform, kids, trucks, and horses; he heard loud music; he ignored food on the ground; and he walked by a bouncy house. There was a lot going on, and he did great with all of it!
