Dogs can get their feet stuck in grates, but we found a fine-gridded one for smaller-sized Rhino to practice on. Good dog!

When you're out with a service dog, you end up becoming an ambassador of sorts. While we were at the zoo with Danny Boy today, we heard lots of parents explaining that the dog was working so they couldn't pet it. Such a great lesson to learn! (In fact, we were really impressed that no one came right up and petted Danny Boy.) For training purposes, we approached a few people, and Danny Boy did well with all of them. He met people of different ages, races, and physical abilities, and he wasn't bothered at all by wheelchairs, canes, baby strollers, or anything else. It was a challenging day for him, and he did great!

Even though a lot of people at church know Rhino by name at this point, it's still fun to have him wear a nametag.
