We’ve spent the last few days at CATCH Canine Trainers Academy’s “Body Language, Behavior, and Problem-Solving” workshop, getting to work and train with shelter dogs. We learned a lot, and today we got our certificates. Thanks so much to our wonderful instructors and all the amazing people and dogs we worked with this week!

Back from a week-long seminar, and the batteries are dead on my car, Julie’s car, my remote starter, our clock, AND the portable-battery-jumper. We are setting a light blanket on Grady’s mat so he associates it with lying down and holding a down-stay. The trainer/handler can bring the blanket along to other places for Grady to lie on, which helps to keep surfaces such as carpeting, car upholstery, or bedding from getting too covered in dog fur. It also provides a bit of comfort and cleanliness for Grady if he has to lie on a hard floor.
